Cover All Kids
Governor Gregoire signed the Cover All Kids Law in 2007 because Save Health Care in Washington was part of the movement that made it happen. Cover All Kids phases in comprehensive health insurance options under the wide umbrella of Apple Health for Kids. We are on point to make sure it fulfills its promise by pursuing the right policies to support it.
Protecting the Health Care Safety Net
Let’s face it, times have been tough. We’re still recovering from the recession and the Washington state budget is stretched thin. Health care always seems to end up on the chopping block. Each time it happens, Save Health Care in Washington has been there to keep public services alive.
We don’t only keep services alive, we strengthen them. A big win in 2013 was the expansion of Medicaid in Washington. It sharply reduced the number of people without health insurance. Would it have happened without the voices of Save Health Care in WA advocates? Let’s put it this way: there would have been a void if it wasn’t for the 87,861 communications we sent to the legislature. Not that we’re keeping count.
These are just a few examples of how Save Health Care in Washington has made an impact. Thanks to the strength of the grassroots, we’ll keep up the good fight and protect and expand access to affordable health care for everyone in Washington.
